This Friday, we have the honour of hosting the 2016 Winter Olympics where athletes from all over the world will be competing in a variety of events! I'll bet that you thought the next winter Olympics wasn't until 2018. Nope. You were wrong. It's going to intense and it's going to be amazing!

Girl/Guy Night

This Friday is our first Girl/Guy Night of 2016 and it's going to be awesome!  Make sure you read the info below that pertains to you!

LADIES

We're going to have a cozy and relaxing night.  Where your comfy clothes, maybe even bring a blanket along. There'll be yummy food, real talk (which will probably result in both laughter and tears...the good kind), nail polish (feel free to bring yours along too), and some of you were talking on Tuesday about knitting, crocheting, and cross stitch (feel free to bring any of these sorts of things along as well).

MEN
7pm in the gym at Scott St Church
You're going to be doing gym stuff, so make sure you wear runners and clothes you can sweat in.  I'm sure there will also be some sort of food involved and maybe even some conversation?...It's possible that I should have gotten Philip​ or Aaron​ to write this info blurb for you... Anyhow, I'm sure it'll be super fun!

Bible Study

NEMBY!!!

It finally feels like winter outside!!!! To be honest, I don't really love winter, but I did find myself smiling as I brushed my car off this morning :D Regarding Bible Study tonight: As of right now, the roads are fine and the skies are clear. The weather forecast is looking okay so we're still on for tonight! Good thing we've got our nice, cozy, new youth room to snuggle into together, eh!

Remember that we're starting a new study tonight on the topic of ETERNITY! I don't know about you, but when I was your age, this was definitely something that was on my mind...where will I go after I die? We'll be talking about the big issues of life and death. Come out and join the discussion! It doesn't matter if you've never come out for Bible study before...make this the night that you start!

Christmas & New Year Potluck

Just a reminder that THIS FRIDAY is our annual Christmas & New Year POTLUCK!!!  7pm at Scott St Church. Here are the things that you need to get on ASAP...if you haven't already:

1. Tell your mom, dad, or caregiver (whoever provides food for you) that we are having a potluck on Friday. FOR REAL. PLEASE DO THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! That way they know about it and won't get stressed when you tell them just a few hours before the potluck.

2. Find a $5 gift to wrap up and bring along.

Lastly, I hope your first day back at school is going alright!  I can't wait to see you all on Friday!

Bible Study

I hope your week is off to a good start!  We're currently in the midst of cozying up the youth room because tonight we're going to be starting our Christmas Advent Bible Study series...and I don't care what all the haters are saying, it's definitely time to start spreading the Christmas cheer and prepping our hearts to fully celebrate the birth of Christ...sweet little, 8 pound 6 ounce baby Jesus.

Seriously though, it's going to be good and you (yes, YOU) should come!  I hear there might even be some hot chocolate and winter treats :)

Pizza & Movie

Tomorrow (Friday) from 7-10pm we'll be at Scott St MB for PIZZA (that we'll make ourselves) & A MOVIE!!!!  It's going to be awesome, and relaxing, and yummy, and an all around great time!  Feel free to come in costume, or just wear your comfy clothes...it's up to you!

Pumpkin Carving & Worship Night

WE HAVE YOUTH TOMORROW!!!!  We're going to meet at Tim​ & Emily's house (1313 President Ct) from 7-10pm.  We'll start the night off with some pumpkin carving (classic fall activity) and then switch over to a worship time around the fire.  DRESS WARM because we'll be outside ALL NIGHT!  Maybe even bring a blanket and lawn chair along for around the fire.  AND invite your friends (particularly if they don't have a youth group).

Lost...the youth event...

NEMBY!!

Here's a bit of info for youth this Friday (trust me, you want to be there!).  We're going to meet at Jaycee Park (543 Ontario St) at 7pm.  Dress weather appropriately (that means wear warm clothes) and bring a flash light if you have one.  We'll be playing a sweet night game in the park.

I hope to see you there!  ...And if you've got any friends who aren't part of other youth groups then feel free to invite them along!

Youth Bible Study

This is it!  It's Tuesday and we're FINALLY starting up our Tuesday Youth Bible Study!  7pm at Scott St.  This is a great time where we share our lives in a more personal way, study God's word together, figure out who God is and what it means for us to follow Him, and pray together!  Some of you are regular attenders of Tuesday youth but there are a lot of people who have never come out for this.  I definitely encourage you to come and give it a shot!  This is a time for us to get real about life and what it's all about!  It doesn't matter where you're at in your understanding of God and faith and life...what matters is that you're interested in trying to figure it out!

Worship Night

NEMBY!!!

This Friday (7pm at Scott St) we're going to be having a worship night!  This event is going to be bigger than just us though...it's a Scott St worship night for youth, young adults, and families!  If you think back, you might remember that last year we had a speaker named Jim Cantelon join us for a night...he was super good and talked about how God calls us to live out His love in the world.  Anyhow, he'll be joining us again this Friday and we'll have a youth worship team leading us in singing praise to God!  It's going to be a great night!  PLEASE BE ON TIME...THE SERVICE WILL START AT 7PM!!!

Also, (and I promise this is true this time) our youth Bible study is going to be starting up NEXT Tuesday...FINALLY!  Our youth leadership team will be meeting tonight to come up with a great game plan for NEMBY 2015/2016!  We welcome your prayers for our meeting tonight!  AND GET READY FOR AN AWESOME TIME TO START NEXT WEEK as we start up our Tuesday nights of sharing life, figuring out what it means for us to follow God with our whole lives, and pray together!

Mark Danger Concert

NEMBY!!!

For youth this Friday we're going to a concert at Heritage Christian Book Store (400 Scott St...it's in the Grantham Plaza beside Home Hardware).  3 Christian hip hop artists will be performing...one of them being our very own Mark Danger!  We are meeting AT Heritage and the concert starts at 7:30pm, so feel free to show up any time between 7 and 7:30.  The concert is free, but there will be a tip jar to support the artists so if you feel so inclined, bring a bit of money to show your appreciation.  I haven't actually been to the new Heritage Christian Book Store location, but I understand that there is a cafe in the store, so if you think you'll want to purchase a snack or beverage then bring some money along for that as well.

NEMBY 2015/2026 IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!!!

NEMBY!!!!

THIS IS THE WEEK THAT WE START OUR NEW YOUTH YEAR!!!!...however, we're going to be starting on Friday, NOT tonight.  This Friday, we're going to meet at Fairview MB Church (455 Geneva St) from 7-10pm for an awesome night of playing games.  I'm sure at least some of you are thinking, "What sort of games will we be playing, Sabrina?".  Well, they're not gym games, but they're not really board games either...it's going to be a combo!  WE'RE PLAYING GIANT GAMES!!!  GIANT Dutch Blitz!  GIANT Speed Scrabble!  And GIANT Jenga!!!  It's going to be AMAZING!!!

7pm at Fairview MB.  Wear clothes that you can be active and sweaty in. If you've got friends who don't have a youth group then maybe invite them to come too! AND GET READY FOR FUN!!!

And mentally prep yourself for next Tuesday, because next Tuesday we'll be starting our new year of youth Bible Study!  I'm super excited for this!

End of Summer Potluck

Today is the day!  I hope your first day of school is going well!  My thoughts and prayers are with you...especially those of you starting college or university.

This Friday we're going to be celebrating summer one last time with our annual END OF SUMMER POTLUCK!!!  The weather this week is looking sketch, but for now let's plan on meeting at my parents' house (1178 Concession 6, NOTL) at 7pm.

It's a potluck so that means that we're going to be having supper together AND that YOU need to bring your favourite dish to share with the group.  PLEASE TALK TO YOUR PARENTS ASAP TO LET THEM KNOW ABOUT THIS and then post what you're bringing below, so that we don't end up with 5 potato salads and 6 watermelons (you laugh, but it's happened before).

Summer Fun

NEMBY!!!

This Friday at 7pm we're going to meet at my parents' house (1178 Concession 6) for an awesome and laid back night of hanging out, playing lawn games, sitting around a bonfire, and weather permitting taking in our own fireworks display.  Make sure you bring a sweater or blanket for when the sun goes down, bring a lawn chair if you want to sit in comfort, and bring bug spray.  Have your ride pick you up at 10pm. See you on Friday!!!

IT'S RAINING.... :(

I'm not sure if you've looked outside yet, but IT'S RAINING :(  I'm super sad about that (hence, the sad face emoji), but HAVE NO FEAR!  We're still going to watch "The Amazing Spider-Man"!  We'll just move the party indoors!  We'll meet at Scott St MB at 7pm!

Fun in Port Dalhousie

This Friday we're going to meet at 7pm at the carousel in Port Dalhousie!  Every Friday night the city of St. Catharines is hosting Moonlight Flicks!  There'll be food, live music, and an outdoor movie!  This Friday, the feature film is "The Amazing Spider-Man".  The event is free, but bring some money along if you want to buy food and bring a nickel so you can ride the carousel!

Bring a blanket or lawn chair and dress smartly, keeping in mind that it usually cools off once the sun goes down.  You might also want to bring some bug spray.

Tell your parents that you'll text or call them about 20 minutes before the movie is over.

The weather forecast is currently calling for rain on Friday, but let's all pray for clear weather!  If it is looking sketchy out there on Friday then make sure you check back here for the rain plan.
