It's Tuesday!  That means, we've got Bible Study tonight!  7 pm at Scott St.  We've been going through the Gospel of Matthew, looking at the life of Christ...who he was, who he cared about, what he talked about, and what that means for our lives.  YOU SHOULD COME!  Tonight we're going to be going through chapter 8 which talks about some pretty crazy things Jesus did and some pretty high standards he set for the people who followed him. Come ready to read, learn, and discuss.

4th Annual Niagara MB Youth Square Dance!!!

NEMBY!!!

Pull out your plaid shirts, tomorrow is our 4th annual Niagara MB Square Dance!!!  DO NOT FREAK OUT if you've never square danced before and think this will be awkward....it's not!  It's super fun and you DON'T NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SQUARE DANCE...there'll be a professional caller there who'll give us simple instructions and teach us how to do it.  You also don't need to worry about having to awkwardly ask a girl or guy to dance...we'll be switching up partners throughout the night and this is no awkward slow-dance, it's good, clean, country fun!

Time: 7-10pm

Location: Froese Family Farm (280 Niven Rd, NOTL) take the driveway past the house to the back barn

Bible Study

First off, I want to thank all of you who helped out with the food drive on Friday!  Vi, from the Salvation Army, came by this morning to pick up the food and she was so thankful for all that we collected!  Great job!

Annual Food Drive

NEMBY!!!

This Friday (tomorrow) is part 2 of Trick or Eat (our annual food drive).  Here are the details you need to know:

1. We're meeting at Grantham MB Church (469 Grantham Ave.) at 5:30 pm.

2. Don't worry about eating supper before you come because there will be pizza there.

3. Feel free to dress up in a costume, but please keep it church/youth appropriate (no "sexy" costumes...it's seriously ridiculous what costumes have "sexy" versions...and also no gory or scary costumes).

4. Make sure you dress warm and weather appropriate and wear shoes that will be comfy to walk in.

5. Arrange for your ride to pick you up from Scott St. MB Church (339 Scott St) at 10 pm.

I'm so thankful for all of the people who signed up to help!  It will make the night go better for everyone and it's such a fun way for us to make a difference in the community!  See you tomorrow!

Community Food Drive part 1

NEMBY!

It's Tuesday, but tonight we'll be meeting at Grantham MB (469 Grantham Ave.) at 7pm and we'll be handing out the flyers for our annual Halloween Community Food Drive.  I know you're probably thinking, but it's cold out and kind of drizzly.  You're right.  It is kind of cold and drizzly out, but it's supposed to be like this all week and if we dress properly and all do it together then it won't take long...and there might even be a warm treat in it for everyone who comes to help.  This is a great way for us to show God's love to our neighbours...we talk about our faith in God every week and tonight we have the chance to actually put it into action!  I hope you're able to come!

Fun with Tim & Emily

This Friday (tomorrow) you'll be meeting AT Tim & Emily Goertzen's house (1313 President Court) at 7pm for a night of fall fun...pumpkin carving, frolf, a bonfire...man, that sounds great!  Make sure you dress for the weather!

Also, because all of our regular adult leaders will be at Camp Crossroads for the youth leadership retreat, make sure you arrange for a ride to come pick you up from Tim & Emily's at 10pm.  Adult leaders will NOT be there to give you a ride.

Change of Plans

There's a change of plans.  According the weather network weather radar there's a storm coming...it's supposed to start raining this afternoon and keep on going until late tonight.  This is not ideal for playing outdoor dark games, so instead WE'RE GOING TO MEET AT SCOTT ST MB AT 7PM and where we'll be making our own fancy (or not fancy...depending on what you like) pizzas and then watching a movie!  

What's that?  You're right!  That does sound like the perfect way to spend a rainy evening!  See you tonight for a cozy and delicious night!  Feel free to bring blankets along for the movie!

Dark Games

NEMBY!!!

We're going to be playing DARK GAMES tomorrow night!!!  It'll be intense and it'll be awesome!  We're meeting AT Jaycee Park (543 Ontario St.) at 7pm. Dress appropriately for the weather (remember that it typically gets colder once the sun goes down) and wear proper running shoes.

There's a slight chance (40% chance) or rain so it's looking debatable then check back here tomorrow to see if we've switched to a rain-plan.

We've got Bible Study tonight!!!  And I sure hope you're planning on coming!  We'll meet at 7pm at Scott St MB to take a look at the next chapter in the Gospel of Matthew.  You're probably asking yourself, "What's that going to be about?"  Here's a hint...it's about preparing for Jesus.  It'll be great time of sharing our lives with each other, figuring out a bit more about what it means to follow Christ with our lives, and praying.  I hope to see you there!

Bible Study is back on!

It's Tuesday and that means that tonight we'll be starting off our new year of Youth Bible Study!!!  We'll meet at Scott St MB Church at 7pm for a time of sharing our lives with each other, studying the Bible, and praying.  It's going to be great!

We're going to start off by looking at the life of Christ as told in the Gospel of Matthew.  I mean really, who was Jesus?  What did he care about?  How did he live? And what does that mean for us today?  Come out to Bible study so we can figure that out together!

A NEW YEAR!!!

A NEW YEAR OF YOUTH IS STARTING!!!  This Friday we're starting off a new year!  We'll be meeting at Fairview MB (455 Geneva St.) at 7 pm and we're going to be having a good old games night...with a twist!  The games are going to be ginormous!  It's going to be great!  You'll also get a chance to know your new NEMBY student leaders a little bit better :)

NO YOUTH

NEMBY!!!

We had our fall planning meeting last night with our brand new youth leadership team and boy, things are looking good!  I'm super excited for this new year of youth...all the fun we'll have and all that God is going to do!

This is just a reminder that we DO NOT have youth this Friday.  We've kept going all summer and we're taking a one week break before we start the new youth year off.

That said, we'd love your help at a few things this weekend!

Fairview MB Church (455 Geneva St) is having a community BBQ this Saturday at 4pm and they need help running some inflatables/bouncy castles and some games.

Scott St MB Church (339 Scott St) is having a community BBQ on Sunday at noon.  There'll be bouncy castles, face painting, cotton candy, etc.  Come out and enjoy the afternoon.

If you're able to come to either of them then that would be sweet!  Make sure you wear your NEMBY shirt if you come!

Goodbye 2013/2014

This Friday marks the end of another year of youth :(

We'll meet at ********* NOTE THE TIME CHANGE ********* 6 PM ********* at my parents' house (1178 Concession 6).  We're meeting early because WE'RE HAVING SUPPER TOGETHER. BRING A DISH TO SHARE.

We'll also have a sweet bonfire that'll include a time of worship and sharing so think about what God's been doing in your life this summer (or this year) and plan on sharing with the group.

Finally, we'll be celebrating all of our youth grads.  If that's you then make sure you come because this party is for you and we're going to end your time in NEMBY with a bang!  It would be pretty sad if you missed it.

Ice Cream at Port

Tomorrow is Friday!!!  That means that we've got youth tomorrow!!!

We'll meet at the carousel in Port Dalhousie at 7pm.  Bring 5¢ along if you want to ride the carousel and bring money along if you want to get ice cream.

Sept. 5 will be our last youth event of 2013/2014 so if this is your last year of youth or you graduated high school this year then make sure to get the night off of work and plan on coming!  We'll be celebrating YOU!

Awesome night at youth last night, eh!  Seriously, I like you guys so much it's not even funny!

Anyhow, just letting you know that there will be NO YOUTH this coming Friday (Aug 22) because over half the group is going to be at Camp Crossroads (myself included).  We'll miss everyone who's staying home for the week.  If you've never been to Camp in the summer before you should seriously plan on coming along with us next summer!

Summer Fun

NEMBY!!!

Tomorrow night we'll be meeting at 7pm at my parents' house (1178 Concession 6, NOTL) for some sweet summer fun!  We'll have various lawn games available (croquet, bocce ball, soccer, frisbee), we'll have a time of singing and sharing around the bonfire, and we've invited our young adults group (people who've graduated out of youth over the past few years) to join us for the fun!

Tomorrow is supposed to be a bit warmer than today, but make sure you bring cozy clothes (maybe even a blanket for around the fire), bug spray, and think about what God has done in your life this summer (during the mission trip, VBS, or just during your regular life) and be ready to share around the fire.

Have your ride ready to pick you up from my parents' house at 10pm.

Ridicuputt!!!

Are you ready to get RiDiCuLoUs!?!?  I sure hope so because it’s going to happen at youth tomorrow night!  That’s right it’s time for another round of…RIDICUPUTT (that means we’ll be going mini-putting with our own ridiculous spin)!

We’ll meet at Scott St MB Church at 7pm and you need to bring $5 for mini-putting and $4 for being ridiculous…make sure they are separate – a $5 bill and $4 (in whatever change breakdown you want). 

There’s also an ice cream place across the street from the mini-putt place so feel free to bring EXTRA MONEY along if you want to get ice cream afterwards.

Pool Party!!!

I have a very important message…this Friday we’re having a pool party!!!  We’ll me at 7pm at Nicole Wiens’ house (60 Cecil St).  They have a pool, a volleyball net, and pretty much the sweetest backyard ever.  If you want to go swimming then bring your swimsuit and towel (ladies, make sure you bring a dark tank top to wear over your bikini).  We’ll end the night off with a bonfire and s’mores (yum!).  Bring a sweater and bug spray for once the sun goes down.

Also, we still need at least 3 more volunteers to help with the VBS party & BBQ on Thursday.  VBS has been super fun already and all our NEMBY volunteers are doing awesome with the kids.  Don’t miss this chance to help out!  Let me know if you can help!

• MEAT (of the midnight variety)…FYI – Josh would prefer it if you brought steak and said any other meat choice might be frowned upon

Ultimate Frisbee Showdown!!!

Remember that THIS FRIDAY is when IT ALL GOES DOWN!!! We'll ***MEET AT 6pm*** at the Centennial Arena in Virgil (1565 Four Mile Creek Rd, NOTL)  for the ULTIMATE FRISBEE SHOWDOWN between us, Cornerstone youth and Southridge youth!!!  Make sure you wear your brand new NEMBY t-shirt (if you have not yet gotten yours then bring your $15 on Friday to get it) (if you didn't order a shirt but are planning on playing on our team then wear a light blue shirt), shoes and shorts you can run in, and a water bottle!  If you're more of the cheering variety then get your cheering voice ready!

After the games are played and the cheers are cheered then we'll be going to my parents' house (1178 Concession 6, NOTL) for a bonfire, hotdogs, marshmallows, and hanging out.  Have your ride pick you up from there at 10pm.

Ultimate Practice

We'll be meeting tomorrow (Friday) at 7pm at Grantham MB Church to learn some sweet (/ultimate) frisbee skills!  Wear shoes you can run in and clothes you don't mind sweating in.  Next Friday (June 20th) is the big tournament between us, Cornerstone, and Southridge youth so we need to make sure we're ready!

Also, our new NEMBY t-shirts are ready so if you ordered one then make sure you bring your $15!  Please bring exact change because we won't be able to break a bunch of $20 bills.

Youth Sunday

This Friday we'll be meeting at 7pm at Scott St MB to do a  practice run of our Youth Sunday service.  Make sure you invite your family and friends to join us this Sunday (June 8) at 7pm to worship God with us and hear about what He's been doing in our lives this year!  After we're finished our practice we'll go across the canal to the Avondale Dairy Bar for some ice cream so bring some money along if you want to get ice cream.

Murder Mystery

Airbands

This Friday is your chance to show us what you've got.  Choose a song, talk to your friends, and rock out.  There will be prizes for the best airband.

Definition of AIRBAND - a group of people who mime playing instruments and singing to a song.
