Bible Study

NEMBY!!!

It’s Tuesday and you know what that means...BIBLE STUDY/AWESOME TIME!  That’s right, we have youth tonight.  We’ll be watching the 2nd video in the Youth Alpha program.  I expect that it’ll promote great discussion once again so come on out!

For the sake of our old, limping along video projector, we’re going to *** MEET AT SCOTT ST MB CHURCH *** (339 Scott St) tonight...this will mean that I won’t have to lug the old girl back and forth between churches and will hopefully keep her going for another 10 years.

We meet at 7 PM and go until 9 PM...have your parents ready to come pick you up at 9 PM.

GARGON!!!

Well NEMBY, you asked and we listened.  This Friday we'll be meeting 7 PM at Fairview MB Church to play...wait for it...wait for it...GARGON!!!

If you're new to youth and aren't sure what that means, it means we'll have a great night together playing a NEMBY favourite.  You should wear clothes you can run in and don't mind getting sweaty and wear proper running shoes.  And I'm not kidding about the shoes...you won't actually be allowed to play unless you're wearing shoes that lace up (or I suppose velcro up) and have a proper sole that will let you run without sliding around.

Bible Study

Worship Night

This Friday we'll be meeting at Fairview MB Church at 7 PM for our first Youth Worship Night of the year.  It'll be a night of singing songs of praise to God and a chance for us to talk a bit about what we hope to see God do in and through our group this year.

Bible Study Start-up NEXT Week

Just a reminder that Youth Bible Study is starting up NEXT week.  We've still got a bit more planning to do to get ready for a great year of youth.

Definitely plan on coming next Tuesday though.  We're going to be going through the new Youth Alpha course, having great conversations about some of life's big questions.

Giant Games & Student Leader Initiation

After a 2 week hiatus, I'm happy to announce that this Friday we're back and ready to start up a new year of NEMBY!!!

We'll be meeting at Fairview MB Church, this Friday, at 7 PM for a night of fun!  Although we're just starting out with a new year of youth and it might feel a bit uncomfortable as we get to know each other, trust me, by the end of this year we will feel like a huge, happy family.  To get that family feel started we're going to be playing some family favourite, classic games...but since this is NEMBY there'll be a twist.  These games aren't going to be normal sized...they are going to be GIANT sized and the entire gym will be our table-top.  You'll also be meeting your 2013/2014 NEMBY student leaders this Friday.

End of the Summer BBQ & Potluck

NEMBY!!!

It's been a good summer, but boy, it's gone by quickly!!!  This Friday is going to be a bittersweet occasion.  We're going to party out the summer with our end of the summer BBQ & potluck.  We'll celebrate a great year of youth and some great member of our NEMBY family who will be moving on to bigger and better things.

Here are the details:
Where: My parents house (1178 Concession 6, NOTL)
When: Friday from 7-10 PM
What: BBQ & Potluck (I'll have burgers, but talk to your parents and let me know if you're able to bring a salad or dessert), swimming (girls, remember to bring a dark tank top to wear over your bikini), bonfire (bring warm clothes to wear when it gets dark).

I already said it, but PLEASE talk to your parents and let me know if you're able to bring food for the dinner...it'll make my day so much easier if others help out.

The Mediocre Race

Are you ready for mediocrity at it's best?  I hope so because tomorrow is The Mediocre Race!  We'll be meeting at 7 pm AT the carousel at Port Dalhousie.  Things to bring: nothing special...you'll be walking around a bit so you might want to wear comfy shoes and it's been kind of cool out this week so make sure you dress for the weather.

Outdoor Movie Night

Sorry for not posting info sooner...I've was on vacation this week and just got home from the cottage.

We're meeting AT Damon & Dana's house (8 Green Leaf Crt) tonight at 7 pm for a pool party, worship & sharing, and an outdoor movie.

Things to bring: swimsuit (girls, bring a dark tank top to wear over your bikini), towel, warm clothes for when the sun goes down, a lawn chair and/or a blanket for the movie.

We can't start the movie until the sun goes down which means that tonight will be a later night.  If you want to stay for the movie then have your parents ready to come pick you up at around 11ish...you can call or text them once we're starting the movie to tell them a definite time.

School Yard Games

We'll be kicking it old school this Friday with some school yard games!  Think soccer baseball/kickball, stones, skipping, four square...all your school yard classics.  We'll meet at 7 pm at Scott St MB Church and then head to the school across the street.

No Youth

Just a quick reminder that THERE IS NO YOUTH THIS FRIDAY!  I'm in Mississauga this week with a group of our youth.  We're helping out at Saga Day Camp and doing a few other service projects.  It's been a great week so far.  Really hot outside, but we're loving the kids we're working with and love getting to know each other better.  Your prayers are welcome!  See you all next week!

Pool Party

NEMBY!!!

I hope everyone is having a good week!  Here's the info for youth this Friday:

We're having a pool party & backyard hangout at Nicole Wiens's house!  We'll meet AT her house (60 Cecil St) at 7pm.  Things to bring: swimsuit (girls, remember to bring a dark tank top to wear over bikinis), towel, bug spray (I was outside last night and got totally eaten!), lawn chair, and a sweater in case it gets cold.  They've got a pool, a volleyball net, and a fire pit in their yard...which is awesome!!!  Feel free to bring a frisbee along if you want.

Have your parents pick you up from her house no later than 10pm.

Hang out at Port

Did anyone else feel like there was something missing last night?  I'm not used to having Tuesday nights free :)

Anyhow...here are the details for youth this Friday.  We're going to be hanging out at Port Dalhousie!!! We'll meet at 7pm AT the carousel.  If you want to ride the carousel then bring 5 cents, if you want ice cream or candy then bring money for that, if you want to play frisbee on the beach then bring a disc...basically we're doing whatever we feel like doing at Port.

I recommend bringing bug spray & a sweater.  Once we're finished hanging out at Port, we'll likely go to McDonald's or something so let your parents know you'll text or call them to let them know where to pick you up (if you don't have a cell phone you can use mine).

Also, our graduating junior youth are invited to come out this week so make sure to give them a warm NEMBY welcome!

Sleepover!!!

ATTENTION NEMBY GUYS!!!

Summer Picnic

Exams are over!!! SUMMER IS HERE!!!

To celebrate summer (and the end of our weekly bible study) we're going to have a picnic!  We'll meet at 6:00 pm at Russell Ave Park (108 Russell Ave).  The weather outside is a bit gloomy today and the forecast is calling for thunderstorms all day.  I've looked at the weather radar and it looks like we'll be okay at 6 pm, but if it's looking sketchy at around 5:30 pm then give me a call to see if we're bringing the picnic indoors.

Oh, and it's a picnic so DO NOT EAT SUPPER AT HOME!  There'll be tons of food.

My favourite youth group,

This Friday we're going to take part in a time hounoured tradition by dressing up select people in thrift-store strangeness and then traveling to a fantastical land to play miniature golf. The name of this tradition is Ridicuputt, the etymology for which I will let you determine on your own.

We will meet at SCOTT ST. MB CHURCH (339 Scott St.) at 7pm.  Bring $3.00 to help your group buy silly clothes and $7.00 to pay for mini-putting at Super Putt in Niagara Falls.  After our game we will go get ICE CREAM so be sure to bring extra money for that if you want some.

Good Luck on Exams

Because of exams we will NOT be having Bible Study/Awesome Time tonight. Next Tuesday we'll celebrate an awesome year of Bible Study with our end of the year picnic.

Summer Fun

Summer is almost here so this Friday we're going to be having some summer fun.  We'll meet at Port Weller Elementary School (at the corner of Bunting & Parnell) at 7pm for some soccer or maybe some other games.  Then once we're tired and sweaty we'll go to Sam's house (675 Niagara St.) for some swimming.  What to bring: running shoes, swimsuit (girls, make sure you bring a dark tank top to wear over your bikini), and a towel.  Parents can pick you up from Sam's house at 10pm.

Bible Study

Tonight is our last regular Youth Bible Study/Awesome Time night.  We'll meet at Fairview MB Church at 7pm.  Next week will be our end of the year picnic...stay tuned for details.

Youth Sunday Practice

For youth tomorrow, we're going to be doing a practice run for Youth Sunday.  WE'LL BE MEETING AT SCOTT ST MB CHURCH AT 7PM and going through the entire service to make sure everyone knows what they are doing and when.  It won't take the whole night so afterward we'll hang out at the church...perhaps play some games in the gym or the youth room.

Ultimate Tournament

This Friday is the big game day!  That's right the Niagara MB Ultimate Tournament is tomorrow!  We'll be meeting AT the Centennial Arena in Virgil (1565 Creek Rd, Virgil) at 6:30 pm...NOTE THE EARLIER TIME.  Make sure you wear running shoes and athletic clothes and bring water.  If you ordered a NEMBY T-shirt then bring $10 along to pay for it (they look great!).

After we finish playing ultimate we'll be going to my parents' house (1178 Concession 6, NOTL) for a bonfire, snacks, and hang out time with Cornerstone & Southridge Youth.  Bring a change of clothes so you don't get all shivery in your sweaty clothes and perhaps bring a sweater along because it gets kind of cold once the sun goes down.  HAVE YOUR RIDE PICK YOU UP FROM MY PARENTS' HOUSE AT 10:30 PM.

Ultimate Practice

NEMBY!!!!

The ultimate tournament is next weekend!!! The competition is going to be pretty intense so to prepare ourselves we're going to take time tomorrow night to practice and make sure we're up to the challenge.

I'll post the location we'll be meeting at tomorrow so check back.  If you have A FRISBEE THEN BRING IT.  Don't worry if you've never even thrown a frisbee before we'll make sure everyone knows how to throw & catch a frisbee and then play some games.  WEAR ATHLETIC CLOTHING & SHOES and BRING WATER.  If sports aren't your thing then just come along to watch & cheer.

Murder Mystery

Bible Study

It's Tuesday!  We'll be meeting at Fairview MB at 7 pm for Bible Study/Awesome Time!  That means we'll be sharing our lives with each other, reading & discussing a passage of the bible (Mark 7:31-8:26), and praying for each other.  It's going to be a good night! And remember that bible study is for EVERYONE so even if you've never come before know that you are welcome!

NEMBY's Iron Chef

Put your cooking skills to the test in NEMBY's first ever Iron Chef competition. Teams of 4 will go head to head to try to make the best dish possible, as determined by the judges. The catch is that there is a secret ingredient that teams will need to incorporate into their dish.

We'll provide the secret ingredient and a few pantry staples (flour, butter, sugar, salt, and oil) and then game on! Your team will come up with a recipe, head across the street to the grocery store for your ingredients, and then make your culinary magic happen.

What you need to bring is:
* $5 to contribute to your teams grocery bill
* clothes you don't mind cooking in (bring an apron if you're worried)

You can talk to your friends and make up your team of 4 ahead of time if you want, but feel free to show up without a team...we'll make sure you all find groups (we're all family at NEMBY).

We will meet at Scott St. MB Church on Friday at 7 pm.

Info for the week...

I'm going to be on vacation this week so here's all the info you need to know:

Tuesday at 7 pm you'll be meeting at Bobby's house (16 Cabot) for the last episode of The Bible.

Friday you'll be meeting at Fairview MB at 7 pm to hang out and work on your cub cars.  If you're making one and have it at home then bring it along to work on it, if you handed it in to get cut out and haven't gotten it back then you'll get it at youth, and if you aren't even making one then no worries come on out and hang out with everyone.  We'll have some basic supplies there (sandpaper :) but if you've got some stuff at home then bring it along.

The Importance of Being Earnest

Easter Stuff

NEMBY!!! Easter weekend is almost here!!! Here's all the info you need to make sure you don't miss out on any of our Easter activities. 

Friday morning at 10:30 am we'll be meeting at Grantham MB Church for a Good Friday service. This is together with all 3 of our churches so it's going to be a more formal church service (not a youth only event). If you're planning on coming then please be on time...in fact, come at 10:25 am so that you have time to take your coat off, chat a bit, and find a seat before the service starts. Invite your family if you like. And don't worry if you don't normally come to one of our 3 churches and are nervous about who you're going to sit with and whatnot, look for me and we can all sit together. You don't need to dress super fancy for this, but I'd recommend something a bit nicer than your jeans & hoodie...I usually wear jeans & a nice shirt. If you don't have a family thing to go to after the service then who ever wants to can come out for lunch, bring $ for that if you want to come.

Sunday morning at 6:45 am we'll be meeting at Lock 1 on the canal for our annual sunrise service. This will be a time to be together, read scripture, sing songs of praise to God, and reflecting on what we're actually celebrating on Easter morning...Christ beating death for us all and making a way for us to be in relationship with God!!! I know it's early (although it really isn't that early this year), but there really is something great about watching the sunrise on Easter morning. Sam & Nigel will be leading the singing for us. Again, anyone who wants to, we'll be going out for breakfast afterward so bring some $ for that.

Worship Night

Tomorrow is Friday!  That means that we have youth tomorrow!!!  Tomorrow night we're going to be meeting at 7:00 pm at Grantham MB for our monthly worship night.  We've been praying for loads of people over the past month who have been in other countries serving God and tomorrow night we're going to hear about some of their experiences.  It's going to be great!

See you tomorrow and remember to keep praying for Mark and Josh who are currently in Guatemala.  And remember to sign up if you want to make a car for the cub car race.  Although I had wanted to order the stuff today, not very many people have signed up yet so I'm going to make the deadline to let me know today.  If you have not signed up for one by tonight then it'll be too late!

The Bible: part 2

It's Tuesday and that means that we've got Bible Study/Awesome Time tonight!!!  We're going to be meeting at Bobby's house (15 Cabot Dr.) at 7 pm for Episode 2 of The Bible.  If you know someone in youth who isn't great at checking info can you please let him or her know about the different location?  Also, because the show is 1.5 hrs (because we get to skip commercials) please plan on coming for 7 because we won't take as long to chat as we normally do before starting so we can make sure to have time for prayer after it finishes and still be ready to head home for 9 pm.

March Break Movie Marathon

In the spirit of making the most of the March Break this Friday we’re going to be chillaxin together and watching some epic movies!  We’ll be getting started at Fairview MB at 4 pm and wrapping up close to 11 pm.  Don’t worry.  We’ll have breaks and food and everything you need to keep going ;)

This year we’ll explore the ancient and awesome tradition of kung-fu; starting with the original Karate Kid, followed by a film starring the incredibly talented Jackie Chan and, as a deadly finishing blow, Dreamworks’ very own Kung-Fu Panda.

Youth Breakfast

And March Break continues!  I hope you’re having a great week.  Last night was super fun and lots of you came out which was nice!  Tomorrow morning at 9:30 am we’re going to have youth breakfast at Angel’s Diner (395 Ontario St).  Everyone is welcome!  Breakfast at Angel’s is usually between $7-14 (it all depends on what you order).  Tell your parents to plan on picking you up again around 10:45-11 am.  See you tomorrow!

Night of Encouragement

Listen up NEMBY!  

This Friday is our monthly worship night, but we’re going to do something a bit different for it.  Since September we’ve gotten pretty close...we’ve had tons of fun, shared life, prayed for each other, learned about God and we’ve done all of this together.  When I look around the room on a Tuesday or Friday night I see a group of people who are each unique and different from the rest but who together make up something amazing.  Each of you...that’s right even YOU...help make NEMBY what it is.  You might be thinking, “She can’t possibly be talking about me right now.  I mean, I’m not even sure if anyone even notices me.” or “I’m just me. I don’t bring anything special to the group.”  Trust me, I’m even talking about you!  When I say that it takes each person to make us who we are, I really, 100%, truly mean that it takes EACH PERSON to make us who we are.  This Friday we’re going to share & celebrate the great things we see in each other.

We’re going to meet at Grantham MB Church at 7 pm.

This Friday we'll be meeting at Cornerstone Community Church (1570 Niagara Stone Rd/Hwy 55, Virgil) at 7:30 pm for a sweet night of worshipping God through singing and hearing about another characteristic of God through session # 3 from the retreat.  It's going to be sweet!

Pancake Tuesday & Bible Study

Today is Pancake Tuesday...maybe you know what that means and maybe you don't, but if you want to join me for some pancakes then meet me at Scott St MB Church at 6 pm tonight for a pancake supper...I've never made crepes before but I'm going to give it a shot and I'll have some extra yummy pancake toppings for you to enjoy!

If you're having pancakes for supper with your family then that's great! One more update...

Because it has been snowing ALL DAY & is still coming down hard we're no longer going to be meeting at Scott St MB tonight.  I'm sure your parents will thank me for making this call & I really do want to make sure everyone stays safe.  I'll see you bright and early at Southridge Vineland at 6:30 am tomorrow.

Here's the deal...

Okay NEMBY! Here's the deal. The bus company said we can't go up tonight :( Definitely not ideal news, but I'm glad that they're concerned for our safety and I'd rather get there safely tomorrow then risk injury or death tonight. So, the plan is that we'll meet at Scott St. MB tonight at 7:30 pm for our first chapel session. There'll be singing, the speaker, and all the amazing people we're going to camp with. Then we'll all go home tonight and tomorrow morning we'll meet at Southridge Vineland at 6:30 am and from there the retreat will proceed as planned. Again, I acknowledge that this isn't ideal and it kind of sucks, but trust me, we'll still have an AMAZING WEEKEND!!!

In case you're wondering...

NEMBY, in case you're wondering about the forecasted snow storm tomorrow and whether or not that'll effect our retreat...I've talked to the bus company and even if they cancel buses in the morning, they're going to re-evaluate the road situation for us in the afternoon to see if we can still go up to Camp as scheduled.  I'm hoping that even if the roads are bad in the morning that they'll be fine/under control by the evening.  If not, we've got some snow plans in the works. I'll keep you posted and if things look questionable in the morning then don't panic, I'll let you know what's going on in the early afternoon.  We'll have to play this by ear a bit see what the weather does tomorrow...It's all part of the adventure!  Also, pass this info on to your parents so that they don't all call me about it tomorrow.

The Senior Youth Winter Retreat!!!

It's finally here! This weekend is The Senior Youth Winter Retreat!  We'll be meeting on Friday at 4:30 pm at Southridge Community Church - Vineland Location (3970 Glendale Ave, Vineland).  Bring all your stuff along and head inside to get checked off of the registration list and find out where to go.  Make sure to bring your warm winter stuff for being outside and feel free to bring your skates & stick along if you want to play hockey.  Also make sure to bring some money along for the supper stop on the way up.  Let your parents know that we'll be back at Southridge Vineland at 4 pm on Sunday.

Worship Night

This Friday is our worship night. It's the first time that we've got an entirely youth led worship team and some of our members who will be going on mission trips in the next bit are going to be sharing. It's going to be sweet. So, we'll be meeting at Grantham MB at 7 pm. See you there!

Bible Study

NEMBY! Get ready for a great night of talent...provided by...YOU! That's right NEMBY Cafe is back. There will amazing drinks & baked goods, plus even more amazing talent. This is your chance to show us what you're good at...music, poetry, comedy. dramatic reading, drama...if you're good at it then we want to see it. 

We'll meet at Scott St. MB Church (339 Scott St.) at 7pm.

Bible Study

Remember that Youth Bible Study/Awesome Time is back on tonight at 7pm at Fairview MB. We'll be looking at Mark 4:35-41 and if you've got time today then read over all of Mark 4. It really won't take long to read it and as you do, think about what's going on, how the people in the story respond to it, what it means for us today, and what you can learn about Jesus through what you're reading...it might sound like a lot, but it really won't take you long. 1st Annual Foosball Tournament

This Friday is NEMBY's First Annual Foosball Tournament! It'll take place at Fairview MB Church at 7pm. Talk to your friends, get your teams (2 players per team), and get ready for some action! NEMBY Christmas Potluck

Well, we’ve been talking about it for weeks already and it’s finally here!  This week is our annual NEMBY Christmas Potluck!  I hope that by now you have talked to your parents about this...if not then please do so IMMEDIATELY!

We’ll be meeting at 6:30 pm on Friday at Fairview MB Church for a night of Christmas fun!  It’ll start with our potluck, then continue with some classic Christmas hymns, Christmas reflection, a re-gift exchange, and our annual ugly Christmas sweater competition.  Oh, I love Christmas!

Here’s a list of the things you need to bring:

• a food dish to share for the potluck
• a re-gift (this is NOT something new, but something you have at  home that you no longer use...one person’s junk is another person’s treasure...or so they say)
• a Christmas sweater (or just look as festive as you can)...we have a real prize for the winner of the competition so trust me you’ll want a chance at it
• perhaps be ready to share what you’ve been thinking about as you’ve prepared to celebrate the birth of Christ

On Friday we are having a few judges come. They are looking for the next big musical sensation.

They're looking for a band! But not any band, an AIR BAND.

So we are having a competition. We will be watching groups perform to a song of their choice and rock out using nothing but air instruments.

I'm back!!!  I had a great vacation and I can't wait to see you on Friday!  

This Friday we will NOT be meeting at any of our 3 churches and we will NOT be meeting at 7pm. We will be meeting at The Pen Center at 7:15pm. Why!? Well, I have been contacted by an evil Time Traveller who says that they have stolen all of the recipes we were going to use for our Christmas potluck! LUCKILY this time traveller enjoys games, puzzles, and riddles and has allowed us a chance to receive some, possibly all, of our recipes back by cracking the code and using some sort of device to summon them back to our place and time. It turns out that the Time Traveller has been following our group for a while and has recruited some of our own into their rank of minions. In order to crack the code we must collect numbers from the minions who have disguised themselves and hid themselves around the mall. So who's with me? WHO wants our recipes back? WHO DOESN'T WANT THE WORST CHRISTMAS POTLUCK EVER?

2nd Annual Barn Party!!!

Dust off your cowboy boots because we're going to a square dance! That's right! This Friday is our 2nd annual barn dance hosted by our dear friends Cornerstone Youth. Don't worry if you've never been to a square dance before and have no idea what it means to "do-sa-do". There'll be a professional caller who'll tell us exactly what to do and how and even if you don't pick it up super quick, it's all part of the fun!

All the info is on the poster. We'll be meeting at the barn at 7:30pm so you're responsible for finding your own ride there. And make sure you bring $5...there will be people collecting money at the door.

Community Care Food Drive (Part 2)

Tonight we will be collecting food for Community Care from the houses we gave bags to last week! Here's how it's gonna go down...

We'll meet at Grantham MB Church at 5:30 and eat delicious pizza. Then we'll collect the food even if it's raining (so wear appropriate gear/footware). Finally, we'll join other youth groups at Bethany Community Church and celebrate with them :D

Sabrina has also mentioned that if missing out on candy is a big deal for you, she will GIVE you candy if you come! Can you think of any reason not to help out with this wonderful project? I sure can't. Hope to see you there :)

Worship Night

Youth tomorrow! Worship night at 7pm at Grantham MB followed by Mark Danger's mixtape release party at 9pm also at Grantham MB!!! Two super great things in one night!

This Thursday...

Tomorrow we're going to be meeting at Grantham MB at 3:15 pm to distribute the Community Care food drive bags! Please wear comfy shoes for walking, and weather appropriate outerwear. Remember that this counts as community service hours and it'll go super quick if we all come and help out.

I am able to come to Eden at 3pm to pick people up and I'm pretty sure that Mark & Josh are going to be coming to help so perhaps they'd be willing to pick people up as well if people need rides...i.e. if all the Secord people want to come and need a ride then comment on here and we'll see what we can do. Maybe there'll even be a treat for those who come...just saying :) We're aiming to be finished at 5pm.

Bible Study: postponed until Thursday

Tonight was going to be our first youth bible study service event...distributing the Community Care food drive bags.  But...if you've looked outside it's gloomy, wet, and just not nice, so instead we're going to postpone youth bible study until Thursday after school when it's supposed to be beautiful and sunshiney outside!

So, just to be clear, we are NOT meeting tonight.  Instead we'll meet on Thursday from 3:15-5pm.  I'll post the info again on Thursday, but the key thing to remember here is to not come to the church tonight, but to plan on coming after school on Thursday.

Also, as you're making Halloween plans, make sure you plan on coming to youth to help with the food drive.  We'll be going around the community picking up the bags we distributed and then joining a ton of other youth groups for a worship night.  It'll be awesome!

Worship Night

Youth this Friday!!! We're going to be meeting at Scott St at 7 pm (the actual service starts at 7:30, but we can hang out in the youth room before hand...MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT THE CHURCH BEFORE 7:30!) and we're going to be joining 2 of our churches for a night of worship. Mark & the youth worship team will be leading the singing and a well-known author and theologian will be speaking about what it looks like to live out nonviolence in todays culture & world. I'm really looking forward to it!

Bible Study Tonight!

It's Awesome Time!!! Tonight at Fairview MB at 7 pm we're going to meet for some sharing & bible study. We're starting out on our study of the Gospel of Mark so I highly recommend reading the first chapter of Mark before you come...it's not very long and will take very little time or effort and yet it will be hugely beneficial to the discussion if you're familiar with it...at the very least bring your Bible along tonight :)

End of Summer BBQ/Potluck

Another AMAZING year of youth is coming to end so this Friday we'll be celebrating with an end of the year BBQ potluck. We'll be meeting at my parents' house (1178 Concession 6) at 7 pm for supper & a sweet end of the summer hang out. I'll be providing all the stuff we need for the BBQ, but please bring something for the potluck. Some suggestions are:
• Potato Salad
• Pasta Salad

• Broccoli Salad
• Veggie Tray
• Fruit Tray
• Chips
• Pop
• Watermelon
• Brownies
• Cupcakes
Talk to your parents & bring something that you love to eat at a BBQ. PLEASE TALK TO YOUR PARENTS ASAP about having to bring something on Friday. Please post what you're bringing on here so that we don't end up having 5 potato salads.

Unfortunately the pool will NOT be open on Friday, but be prepared to be outside for the evening (warm clothes for if it gets cold, bug spray, etc.).

Let your parents know that you’ll need to picked up at around 10:30.

Youth this week...

Here's the info for youth this week. We will NOT be having bible study tonight because Mark's got a show & you're all invited! It's at Bella Rosa's in St. Catharines. The doors at 8:30 pm but he probably won't be on until around 9:30 pm. I'm planning on going so if anyone wants a ride then text or message me...I can fit 4 people in my car so the first 4 who talk to me can get a ride with me. It's a free show, but it's at a pizza place, so bring $5 if you can and maybe we can get a pizza.

On Friday we'll be meeting at 7 pm at Fairview MB for a worship night and to discuss the questions from the sleepover (we were going to do the question discussion on Thursday, but we're doing it Friday instead). It's going to be awesome!

Here’s the info for Friday/Saturday:

Guys:

You will meet at the new Kiwanis Aquatics Centre (425 Carlton St – the corner of Carlton & Niagara) at 6:45 pm.  BE ON TIME because the pool is only open until 8.  Bring your swimsuit & towel (obviously).  The cost for swimming is $2 if you’re 18 or under and $3 if you’re over 18. 

After swimming you’ll go to Fairview MB for games, movies, food, etc.  Make sure you bring a sleeping bag, pillow, and anything else you need for the night or the next morning.

Girls:

We will be meeting at my parents’ house (1178 Concession 6, NOTL) at 7 pm.  Bring your swimsuit & towel if you want to go swimming (remember to bring a dark tank top to wear over bikinis).

We’ll be spending the night at my parent’s house so make sure you remember to bring your sleeping bag, pillow, and anything else you need for the night or the next morning.

EVERYONE:

We’ll all be going out for breakfast together on Saturday morning so make sure you bring some money along for breakfast.  $10 should be enough, but how much you need for this will depend on what you order.  We’ll meet at Angel’s Diner at 9 am so your parents can pick you up from Angel’s Diner (395 Ontario St.) between 10-10:30…you can text or call them once we’re finished.

Bible Study

I just came from GMB where the day camp our churches are running is going on & it was amazing! Thanks to all of you who are over there loving on kids right now! YOU ARE AMAZING!!!

Tomorrow night is our bible study night so we'll be meeting at Damon & Dana's (although Dana is Camp Crossroads this week) at 7 pm and we'll be talking about John 10-12 so if you come then please make sure that you've read the chapters & are prepared with your questions & observations.
