Bible Study

Ultimate Tournament

This Friday is the big game day!  That's right the Niagara MB Ultimate Tournament is tomorrow!  We'll be meeting AT the Centennial Arena in Virgil (1565 Creek Rd, Virgil) at 6:30 pm...NOTE THE EARLIER TIME.  Make sure you wear running shoes and athletic clothes and bring water.  If you ordered a NEMBY T-shirt then bring $10 along to pay for it (they look great!).

After we finish playing ultimate we'll be going to my parents' house (1178 Concession 6, NOTL) for a bonfire, snacks, and hang out time with Cornerstone & Southridge Youth.  Bring a change of clothes so you don't get all shivery in your sweaty clothes and perhaps bring a sweater along because it gets kind of cold once the sun goes down.  HAVE YOUR RIDE PICK YOU UP FROM MY PARENTS' HOUSE AT 10:30 PM.

Ultimate Practice

NEMBY!!!!

The ultimate tournament is next weekend!!! The competition is going to be pretty intense so to prepare ourselves we're going to take time tomorrow night to practice and make sure we're up to the challenge.

I'll post the location we'll be meeting at tomorrow so check back.  If you have A FRISBEE THEN BRING IT.  Don't worry if you've never even thrown a frisbee before we'll make sure everyone knows how to throw & catch a frisbee and then play some games.  WEAR ATHLETIC CLOTHING & SHOES and BRING WATER.  If sports aren't your thing then just come along to watch & cheer.

Murder Mystery

We have youth tonight!!!!  We'll be meeting at Scott St MB Church at 7 pm for a night of mystery and intrigue.  See you there!

Bible Study

It's Tuesday!  We'll be meeting at Fairview MB at 7 pm for Bible Study/Awesome Time!  That means we'll be sharing our lives with each other, reading & discussing a passage of the bible (Mark 7:31-8:26), and praying for each other.  It's going to be a good night! And remember that bible study is for EVERYONE so even if you've never come before know that you are welcome!

NEMBY's Iron Chef

Put your cooking skills to the test in NEMBY's first ever Iron Chef competition. Teams of 4 will go head to head to try to make the best dish possible, as determined by the judges. The catch is that there is a secret ingredient that teams will need to incorporate into their dish.

We'll provide the secret ingredient and a few pantry staples (flour, butter, sugar, salt, and oil) and then game on! Your team will come up with a recipe, head across the street to the grocery store for your ingredients, and then make your culinary magic happen.

What you need to bring is:
* $5 to contribute to your teams grocery bill
* clothes you don't mind cooking in (bring an apron if you're worried)

You can talk to your friends and make up your team of 4 ahead of time if you want, but feel free to show up without a team...we'll make sure you all find groups (we're all family at NEMBY).

We will meet at Scott St. MB Church on Friday at 7 pm.

Who will be the next Iron Chef...or perhaps I should say, who will be the first Iron Chef?

Worship Night

Tomorrow is our worship night! We'll be singing some great songs to our Creator and hearing about recent mission trip experiences from some of our adult leaders.

NEMBY 500

Tomorrow is the day that it's all going down!  That's right, NEMBY 500 is finally here!  Cars have been registered, tracks are being prepared, it is going to be real!  We've got 20 cars registered to race...if you are not involved with any of these then that's okay, you should still come out to take in the action, cheer for your favourite car, and just be with everyone.  It's going to be a great night!

Bible Study

Info for the week...

I'm going to be on vacation this week so here's all the info you need to know:

Tuesday at 7 pm you'll be meeting at Bobby's house (16 Cabot) for the last episode of The Bible.

Friday you'll be meeting at Fairview MB at 7 pm to hang out and work on your cub cars.  If you're making one and have it at home then bring it along to work on it, if you handed it in to get cut out and haven't gotten it back then you'll get it at youth, and if you aren't even making one then no worries come on out and hang out with everyone.  We'll have some basic supplies there (sandpaper :) but if you've got some stuff at home then bring it along.

The Importance of Being Earnest

This Friday we are going to be seeing our very own Lucas Froese as Jack Worthing in Eden's performance of The Importance of Being Earnest!!!  We'll meet at Eden High School (535 Lake St) at 7 pm.  Here's the list of people I've got tickets for.  I just called to confirm numbers and unfortunately they are sold out for Friday's show so unless your name is on the list you won't be able to get a ticket.

If you're in high school then the cost of your ticket is $8.  If you are no longer in high school then the cost of your ticket is $10.  We will each pay for our own tickets when we get there so don't worry about getting money to me even about having correct change...they told me they'd have loads of toonies to break bills.  I'm sure that there will be snacks & drinks available for a cost during the intermission, if you think you'll want to purchase some then bring money along for it.

Easter Stuff

NEMBY!!! Easter weekend is almost here!!! Here's all the info you need to make sure you don't miss out on any of our Easter activities. 

Friday morning at 10:30 am we'll be meeting at Grantham MB Church for a Good Friday service. This is together with all 3 of our churches so it's going to be a more formal church service (not a youth only event). If you're planning on coming then please be on time...in fact, come at 10:25 am so that you have time to take your coat off, chat a bit, and find a seat before the service starts. Invite your family if you like. And don't worry if you don't normally come to one of our 3 churches and are nervous about who you're going to sit with and whatnot, look for me and we can all sit together. You don't need to dress super fancy for this, but I'd recommend something a bit nicer than your jeans & hoodie...I usually wear jeans & a nice shirt. If you don't have a family thing to go to after the service then who ever wants to can come out for lunch, bring $ for that if you want to come.

Sunday morning at 6:45 am we'll be meeting at Lock 1 on the canal for our annual sunrise service. This will be a time to be together, read scripture, sing songs of praise to God, and reflecting on what we're actually celebrating on Easter morning...Christ beating death for us all and making a way for us to be in relationship with God!!! I know it's early (although it really isn't that early this year), but there really is something great about watching the sunrise on Easter morning. Sam & Nigel will be leading the singing for us. Again, anyone who wants to, we'll be going out for breakfast afterward so bring some $ for that.

Worship Night

Tomorrow is Friday!  That means that we have youth tomorrow!!!  Tomorrow night we're going to be meeting at 7:00 pm at Grantham MB for our monthly worship night.  We've been praying for loads of people over the past month who have been in other countries serving God and tomorrow night we're going to hear about some of their experiences.  It's going to be great!

See you tomorrow and remember to keep praying for Mark and Josh who are currently in Guatemala.  And remember to sign up if you want to make a car for the cub car race.  Although I had wanted to order the stuff today, not very many people have signed up yet so I'm going to make the deadline to let me know today.  If you have not signed up for one by tonight then it'll be too late!

The Bible: part 2

NEMBY!!!

It's Tuesday and that means that we've got Bible Study/Awesome Time tonight!!!  We're going to be meeting at Bobby's house (15 Cabot Dr.) at 7 pm for Episode 2 of The Bible.  If you know someone in youth who isn't great at checking info can you please let him or her know about the different location?  Also, because the show is 1.5 hrs (because we get to skip commercials) please plan on coming for 7 because we won't take as long to chat as we normally do before starting so we can make sure to have time for prayer after it finishes and still be ready to head home for 9 pm.
