Iron Chef

Hey NEMBY!! 

This Friday were going to meet at Scott St. at 7 pm!! Come prepared with $5 and a lot of creativity because we'll be having a little competition!! IT'S IRON CHEF! Woot! Once all of you guys get to the church we'll get in teams of at least 5 or 6. You can even think about getting in teams now if you want. Then you guys will head over to Sobeys and pick up some ingredients you'll need for the dish you want to make. For those of you who haven't watched Iron Chef before, there will be a secret ingredient that will be revealed on Friday which you must incorporate into your recipe. I'll explain more on later. Hope to see all of you there.


P.S I know that some of you guys will still have exams going on till next week but think of this as a break. YOU DESERVE IT!

I hope you've all studied up and are ready for the exams ahead of you!  In order to encourage you to continue studying and to avoid giving you an excuse to procrastinate we're cancelling Bible Study for tonight.  That's right, NO BIBLE STUDY tonight.  Good luck on your exams and get ready to let loose at youth on Friday!

2nd Annual Foosball Tournament

That's right, tomorrow is our second annual foosball tournament! NEMBY, this is the event we have ALL been waiting for, the event that we talk about every single Friday until it happens again next year! Yes, I cannot describe how we all feel about foosball, the feelings are too strong, but in all my years I have never seen a game played with so much heart, and so beloved by everyone of us.

Bring your team of two, this Friday, to Fairview at 7pm. The night to end all nights is tomorrow, come and have fun, come to get your name on the cup!

disclaimer: Don't worry if you don't have a partner or even if you're not very good.  This is all just good fun.  There will be lots of people without partners yet so we can make teams up when we get there.

Bible Study

NEMBY!!!

It's Tuesday!!!  We've got Bible Study tonight!!!  We'll meet at Scott St MB Church at 7 pm for a night of being together, sharing our lives, and talking about God and what it means to follow him...I think we might even sing a few songs tonight...I mean, who says we can't worship God through singing at Bible study?

The topic tonight is the Holy Spirit.  Now, you might be thinking to yourself, "What!?  We talked about the Holy Spirit last time!"  Well, this is part 2!

I hope to see you tonight (even if you've never come on a Tuesday night before, why not make this the Tuesday you start coming?)!

Super Late (but still awesome) Christmas & New Year's Bash

This Friday we're having our super late (but still awesome) Christmas & New Year's Bash!!!  We'll meet at Scott St MB Church at 7 pm AND MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT EAT DINNER BEFORE YOU COME because it'll be a potluck!  Please bring a food dish to share with the group.

It'll be a fun night of being together doing holiday things :)  Bring your holiday enthusiasm, a $5 gift for a gift exchange, and a food item....feel free to look festive as well :)

We're back on tonight!  We'll be meeting at Bethany Community Church  (1388 Third St) at 7 PM for a To Tell concert that Mark Danger is opening for.  The cost of entrance to the concert is ONE CANNED FOOD ITEM...please remember to bring this.

Regular Bible Study will start up again next Tuesday.

Also, youth this Friday is going to be great, but there are a few things you need to bring...a food item for our potluck and a $5 gift for our Christmas gift exchange.  I'll post more details about when and where tomorrow, but I want to make sure you've got enough notice on what you need to bring so you're not stressed about it.

Potluck Next Week

Next Friday we'll be back on and we'll be having our annual Christmas/New Year's/Winter Potluck & Party!!! The reason I'm telling you this is so that you make sure to TELL YOUR PARENTS ABOUT IT NOW. Potluck means that we'll be having dinner together and that everyone has to bring something to contribute to dinner. The options of what to bring are endless, but it is VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU TALK TO YOUR PARENTS NOW to let them know so they aren't upset when you spring it on them next Thursday.

Breakfast on Monday

NEMBY!!!

I hope all of you had a great Christmas, enjoying time with family & friends!  We're currently on our first of two Fridays that we're NOT have youth.  So, DO NOT come to any of our churches tonight...WE ARE NOT HAVING YOUTH TONIGHT.  You should however plan on coming to Angel's Diner on Monday morning at 10 am for breakfast!  Two weeks is too long for us to not get together so join me (and whoever else comes) for breakfast on Monday. I hope to see you there!

Coffee House & Open Mic

This Friday we'll be meeting at Scott St MB Church at 7 PM and we're inviting our North End MB Young Adults to join us for night of good food & drink, cozy atmosphere, and great entertainment (provided by you)!  Acts can include anything you want to share with the group...acoustic songs, spoken word, a reading from your favourite book of poems, a short story, jokes, skits, etc.  Sign up your act with Mark and come out to enjoy a night of being together, celebrating Christmas, and celebrating the gifts & talents God has given us!

Bible Study

Not only is it Tuesday, but it's the last Tuesday that we're meeting before Christmas!!! We've been collecting money for our special Christmas project for the past 3 weeks and we're currently up to $200! Good job, NEMBY! If anyone has any last minute contributions to make then message me with the amount and I'll add it to our total.

Tonight, we'll be meeting at Scott St MB Church at 7 PM, but instead of our usual Bible Study we'll be purchasing and assembling the toiletry stocking for The Deck and we'll be assembling the Christmas Eve candy bags for Scott St. It'll be a great night of serving others.

CHANGE OF PLANS...THERE'S SNOW!!!

*** THIS JUST IN ***

We're changing the plans for tonight because....THERE'S SNOW OUTSIDE!!! Instead of NEMBY Records, let's get all bundled up and go TOBOGGANING!!!

We'll still meet at 7 PM at Scott St MB Church, but wear your snow gear (snow pants, warm jacket, scarf, toque, mitts, etc.) and bring a sled, crazy carpet, GT, toboggan, or whatever sledding device you have in your garage because we're going tobogganing!!! 

Once we're sufficiently tobogganned out, we'll come back to the church to warm up with a Christmas movie, hot chocolate and snacks.

Remember to bring your money for our Christmas project...we're at just over $108 and another $200 would give us enough to do this well. That's a big goal for one night, but NEMBY let's do this!

NEMBY Records

NEMBY!!!

There is a magical book that you may have heard of called the NEMBY Book of Records.  Many have heard of this book but few have actually seen it.  Well, this Friday is your chance to join the ranks of past & present members of NEMBY who, although they may have never seen the book, have their names recorded in it for the outstanding, jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring feats of strength or endurance that they have shown at our annual NEMBY Records night. Do you think you have what it takes to chug water faster, or kick your shoe further, or hula-hoop longer than your fellow NEMBYians?

This Friday we will be meeting at 7 PM at Scott St and you will have a chance to make your name known in The NEMBY Book of Records.

This Friday is our monthly worship night and since the Advent of Christmas is starting this Sunday, we're going to talk a bit about Advent...what does that even mean anyhow? Yay for Christmas!

We'll meet at Scott St MB Church on Friday at 7 PM.  Get ready to praise God and think about what we're celebrating this Christmas season.

Ice Dogs Game

This Friday we're going to see an Ice Dogs game! I got tickets for everyone who signed up so hopefully you did.  We're meeting at Scott St MB Church at 6:15 PM (NOTE THE EARLIER TIME).  The tickets cost $16 so make sure you bring money along to pay for your ticket.  If at all possible, please bring exact change...I won't have a ton of change to break a bunch of $20s.

It's Tuesday!  That means that we'll be meeting at 7 PM tonight at Scott St MB Church for youth tonight!  We'll spend the evening sharing our lives with each other, watching a video called "Word: How & Why I Read the Bible", and praying for each other.  It's going to be good so you should come out...even if you've never come before, why not make tonight the night you start coming?

Ice Dogs Tickets
