Worship Night

NEMBY!!!

Tomorrow night is our monthly worship night!  We'll meet at FAIRVIEW MB CHURCH at 7pm.  Emily will be sharing a bit about her life/testimony with us and to kick off our sweet new Bible Memorization Challenge we're going to have a time of sharing focused on Bible verses that have spoken to us SO THINK OF SOME VERSES THAT HAVE SPOKEN TO YOU and be ready to share a bit of your life with group.

Bible Study

Just a reminder that we've got Bible Study tonight!!!  And correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that EXAMS ARE OVER!!!!

Tonight we'll be going through Matthew chapter 14 and looking at some great stories of Jesus being fully human and yet fully God and showing compassion and caring for people even while going through his own hard times. Come ready to read, share, discuss, and pray!

And remember about our Bible Memorization Challenge.  If you've been working on this then come ready to recite your verses and earn your gold stars :)

Finally, we're going to be having breakfast together on Thursday at 9am at Angel's Diner.  Feel free to join me!

Movie Night

I hope you all survived the day/your exams...I took some time to pray for you this morning...that you feel peace and that all that info you've been cramming into your head would come to mind when needed.  Hang in there!  The end will come soon!

In the mean time, come out to youth tomorrow (Scott St MB Church at 7pm) to relax and be together.  We're going to be watching a movie and eating great snacks...super relaxing and very little mental energy needed.  Make sure to wear your comfy clothes and bring cozy blankets along.

Christmas & New Years Potluck!!!

This Friday is our Christmas & New Years Potluck!!!  Sure, the holidays might be over already, but at NEMBY we like to extend the holiday goodness to point of being kind of painful :)

We'll meet at Scott St MB Church at 7pm and MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT EAT SUPPER AT HOME, but instead bring a dish to share with everyone!  TALK TO YOUR PARENTS IMMEDIATELY if you haven't yet done so to let them know about the potluck...I don't want any stressed out parents because you waited until Friday to tell them!

Other components of the night will be some fun Christmas games, perhaps a reading of a classic Christmas tale, a $5 gift exchange.  Think festive and fun and cozy!

Just to be clear on what you need to bring:
1. A dish to share for the potluck...and an appetite!
2. A $5 gift for the gift exchange
3. Christmas cheer :) (this can even be in the form of a festive holiday sweater...just saying)

Also, on January 16 we will be attending an Ice Dogs game.  The tickets are $15 and include a free-skate at The Meridian Centre prior to the game...great deal!  The skate is from 5-6pm and the game starts at 7pm.  If you would like to join us then email me (Sabrina) at sabrina@nemby.ca no later than this Friday (January 9).

Christmas Hiatus

In case anyone is wondering...we DO NOT have Bible study tonight.  We're at the beginning of our 2 week Christmas hiatus.  We'll be back to our regular (and amazing) schedule on Tuesday, January 6.

And take special note that on Friday, January 9 we'll be having our annual Christmas & New Year Potluck & Party!  Make sure you let your parents know that you'll have to bring a dish to share with the group and we'll be doing a $5 gift exchange so if you're planning on doing any Boxing Week shopping then keep your eyes open for something good!  More info on this event will be posted closer to the event.

I hope you all have a very merry Christmas and I'm excited to see what God has in store for us in 2015!

Cozy Christmas Coffee House

Christmas is coming!!!  Join us for a cozy, Christmas coffee house at 7 pm on Friday at Scott St MB Church!  The hot drinks & delicious snacks will be plentiful and the music & entertainment will be amazing!  Feel free to invite friends!

Last Bible Study of the 2014

NEMBY!!!

It's Tuesday and it's our last Bible Study before we take a 2 week break for Christmas!  We'll meet at 7pm at SSMB, but instead of our usual study of Matthew we're going to be putting together the Christmas stockings for Youth Unlimited's The Deck and the candy bags for Christmas Eve at SSMB.  Once that's finished we'll talk/reflect a bit about what Christmas is all about.

See you tonight!  Oh, and I just finished counting the money we've been collecting for the past few weeks and...drum roll please...we raised $447.85!  If my calculations are correct then that should be enough to help us make 12 stockings filled with toiletry goodness! Good job everyone!

TOBOGGANING!!!

NEMBY!!!!

Dig out your warmest winter wear because...THERE'S SNOW!!!!  I typically don't get this excited about snow (I'm more of a hot sun kind of person), but this is exciting because it means we can go tobogganing tonight!!!!  We'll meet at Scott St MB Church at 7pm.

Make sure you wear your snow pants, warm winter jacket, mitts, scarf, hat, and boots...seriously, last year some of you didn't listen to this instruction and complained about the cold the whole night.  If you've got a crazy carpet, snow saucer, or some other type of sled at home then bring it along (feel free to bring more than one if you've got more).

We'll end the night back at the church where we'll enjoy some hot drinks as we thaw out.  Have your ride ready pick you up from Scott St. at 10pm.

Also, remember that tonight is our last night to collect money for our Christmas project...stockings for at-risk youth.  LET'S FINISH THIS STRONG.  Dig deep and bring your last donations to the project along tonight.

Girl/Guy Night

I'm back from my vacation and can't wait to see you all...although that'll have to wait until next week because this week is our Girl/Guy night!!!  MAKE SURE YOU READ BELOW FOR THE INFO PERTAINING TO YOU!

NEMBY GUYS
You will be meeting at Scott St MB Church (339 Scott St) at 7pm for a night of being manly/doing stuff that you guys will enjoy doing :)  Bring your running shoes (make sure to wear shoes that DO NOT make scuff marks on the floor). There will be sports, there will be food, there will be video gaming, and there will a lot of fun had together!

NEMBY GIRLS
We will be meeting at Fairview MB Church (455 Geneva St) at 7pm for our lady activities.  You don't need to bring anything special...other than your own special self.  We'll have a night of food, fun, and being together.

EVERYONE
Have your rides ready to pick you up from your location at 10pm and remember that we are still collecting money for our special Christmas project...stockings for the youth from The Deck, so bring your contribution along!

The plan for youth this week is to play a game of "Where's Waldo?" at the new mall in NOTL.  Please confirm the details with Sam Willems at 905.937.6900 though to make sure nothing has changed.  I'm going to be on vacation this week so I won't be able to update info on here...hence the suggestion to double check details with Sam/the office at Scott St.

Bible Study

We're meeting at Scott St MB at 7pm today for Bible study!  We'll be continuing our look at Jesus life...the last 2 weeks we read about some pretty crazy things Jesus did and the people he spent his time with, today we're going to be reading about him sending his disciples out to start living out what they've seen him do...yikes, this might hit close to home!

Worship Night

NEMBY!!!

Tomorrow (Friday) night is our monthly worship night!!!  Cameron will lead us in some singing and Emily will be sharing a bit of her testimony/life story (what God's been doing in her life).  It's going to be good!  There will also be an open time of sharing so be thinking about what God has been doing in your life lately...things that have been going in your life, things God's been showing you, etc...seriously...don't just ignore this, think about the past few months of your life and whether or not there's something you can share tomorrow.

Also, remember that for the next 4 Fridays we are NOT going to McDonalds after youth...BUT STILL BRING THE $ YOU WOULD HAVE SPENT because we're going to be collecting money to make Christmas stockings for some of the youth from The Deck (a drop-in centre for at risk youth).  This is one small (although it might feel big to some of you) sacrifice that we can intentionally make in order to share God's love in a practical way with others.

Now you might be wondering, "What are we going to do after youth then?"  Well, I'm glad you asked!  Tomorrow night we'll be staying at the church to watch a movie!  There'll be snacks and drinks so you don't even have to worry about being hungry.  If you want to stay for the movie then arrange for you ride to pick you up at around 10:30...although that'll depend on when we start the movie so tell them you'll text them by 9:15 to let them know the exact time you need to be picked up.

We've got Bible study tonight at Scott St MB at 7pm.  We had some great discussion last week and it would be sweet if you came tonight!  We're going to be looking at Matthew chapter 9 where Jesus does some more crazy things, and clarifies a bit about why he came to earth and who he's going to be spending his time with.

If you come then be ready to read, discuss, and learn more about Jesus and what it means to follow him.

It's been a while since we've used the church gym for what it was meant for so get out your running shoes and do some light stretches, because tomorrow night we're going to be playing some classic gym games!

It's Tuesday!  That means, we've got Bible Study tonight!  7 pm at Scott St.  We've been going through the Gospel of Matthew, looking at the life of Christ...who he was, who he cared about, what he talked about, and what that means for our lives.  YOU SHOULD COME!  Tonight we're going to be going through chapter 8 which talks about some pretty crazy things Jesus did and some pretty high standards he set for the people who followed him. Come ready to read, learn, and discuss.

4th Annual Niagara MB Youth Square Dance!!!

NEMBY!!!

Pull out your plaid shirts, tomorrow is our 4th annual Niagara MB Square Dance!!!  DO NOT FREAK OUT if you've never square danced before and think this will be awkward....it's not!  It's super fun and you DON'T NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SQUARE DANCE...there'll be a professional caller there who'll give us simple instructions and teach us how to do it.  You also don't need to worry about having to awkwardly ask a girl or guy to dance...we'll be switching up partners throughout the night and this is no awkward slow-dance, it's good, clean, country fun!

First off, I want to thank all of you who helped out with the food drive on Friday!  Vi, from the Salvation Army, came by this morning to pick up the food and she was so thankful for all that we collected!  Great job!
