I'm not sure how many of you would have recognized the elderly couple that came forward at the end of the service for the prayer part. They didn't come up to the mic, the woman prayed from the floor.

That was Rev. Henry Penner and his wife. Pastor Penner was the pastor of our church for close to 30 years altogether. He has tapped many people on the shoulder and encouraged many leaders...I am a product of that. Even at his age, some years ago Pastor Penner gathered together a bunch of guys and met with us and shared some of himself with us. I was one of those guys. He quietly came to youth bible studies that Mike Klassen and I led and we would always find a note of encouragement in our mailbox from him afterward (I still have those).

It's sad for me to see Pastor Penner slowing down as he ages, but to have him and his wife (who is an angel) come forward and to hear Mrs. Penner pray the way she did for our group brought tears to my eyes.

That was the greatest moment for me at Youth Sunday and perhaps one of the greatest moments in my ministry here at Scott St.

For worry of over commenting here, I'm gonna put another, more general comment.

I have never been so proud of our youth as I was on Sunday. Everyone who participated to make Sunday a reality are hero's in my book! Each one of you did an amazing job!

I was grinning the whole service I was so proud!

Thank-you for helping to make my job a joy!

I love you all!

i thought God really spoke through Rob this sunday. it was just a forward thing that everyone knew, but nobody really wanted to hear. it was really cool. it's so much more better when the truth is brought to the light instead of us acting fake all the time.
great stuff. oh yeah, and the skit was amazing too.

I have to say, that drama was awesome, the worship was sweet, and I really enjoyed it.

Speaking was fun too, I'm looking forward to doing more of that in the future, and I really really want to see change come about as a result. I want to encourage all of us not to just sit back, but to do it ourselves. Make sure youre the one making changes, not waiting for them to happen.

Although I wasn't there, I must say that I am also very proud of the way Bobby did his sermon. He sent it too me and I was smilign the whole time. Also when Tom told me about the Penner's it also made me smile. When I was leading he bible study (many years ago) Pastor Penner would always make a point of encouraging me and I always appreciated that. Well, that's about it for now, on another note Go Oilers!

Even though i have not been a member of the youth for a long time, I think that youth Sunday has helped me find out a little more about each person at youth(although names sometimes escape me).

So all i would like to say is....Thanx to everyone for making me feel so welcome:)
